I’ve been working on a projectile-based weapon system now. I made a pretty simple system that takes a bunch of variables that define the guns behaviour (damage, force, accuracy, etc…) and now I have some working prototypes :)
^ Here you’ll see a blocky rendition of a gold tinted pistol, firing bullets at a speed of roughly 60 per second in a ridiculously scattering formation.
I expect to have lots of different guns, that behave in lots of different ways, and look a lot different to each other so they are visually distinguishable – not just blocks of nothing.
Later in the week I’ll be working a lot on the AI and the enemies, making the levels more interesting, power-ups, coins, and redoing the artwork on this blog to reflect the games evolving nature.
